Welcome to Revere Chamber of Commerce
Revere’s leading business organization since 1979 – We are happy to share our city with you!
Revere is a friendly, close-knit ocean-side community that is rich in history, culture and diversity. From its three-mile sandy beach and natural salt marshes, to its bustling business districts, vibrant community groups and animated residents, Revere is sparkling with year-round activity. Only minutes from downtown Boston, Revere has an identity all its own – an ideal mix of old and new. Because of its convenient location and jewel of a beach, Revere has become an attractive destination for day trippers, business travelers and long-term visitors alike.
Our friendly neighborhoods, each having a distinct personality, offer a variety of housing options from ocean-front condominiums to single-family homes. Children and families can enjoy 14 neighborhood playgrounds and five fields for baseball, field hockey, football, soccer and softball.
Those who live here as well as those who visit know that Revere has something for everyone. Once you’ve discovered Revere, we’re sure you’ll agree that it’s a very good place to live, to work and to do business.
Thank You,
Laura K. Leone
Executive Director

Local Option Meals Tax
City of Revere Adopts Local Option Meals Tax May 24 – Increased Tax on Meals Set to Start July 1, 2010. Mayor Says New Revenue Will Fund Two New Police Officers
The Revere Chamber of Commerce works to create a strong local economy in part by advocating for businesses before local government. In August 2009, after polling its member restaurants, the Chamber went before the City Council to publicly oppose the adopton of the new tax. The Revere City Council unanimously opposed the new tax at that meeting. At that time, only a handful of cities and towns in the state (seven of 352 communities) had adopted the new tax. In his original proposal, Mayor Ambrosino was adamant that all revenue generated from the new tax would go into the City’s General Fund to help address the City’s budgetary deficit. The timing of last year’s proposal would have local option meals tax imposed immediately following a 1.25% hike in the state’s sales tax.
